At Tricity Windows & Doors, our current lead times are approximately 4–5 weeks for replacement windows and patio doors, about 6 weeks for white entry doors, and approximately 8 weeks for painted or stained entry doors.
But there is more to the timeline than manufacturing. Final measurements need to be completed, your products are custom ordered for your home, and installation needs to be scheduled.

What Are Tricity Windows & Doors' Current Lead Times?
As of 2026, our typical lead times are:

How Long Does It Take to Get Replacement Windows After Ordering?
For most Tricity window projects, homeowners can currently expect approximately 4–5 weeks of manufacturing lead time after final measurements and order confirmation.
Replacement windows are not simply taken from a warehouse shelf.
Each opening is measured and the windows are manufactured according to the specifications of that particular project. Size, operating style, glass configuration, colour, grills and other options are confirmed before the order goes into production.
That is why there is normally a period of several weeks between ordering replacement windows and installing them.
When Are the Final Window Measurements Taken?
Once a homeowner decides to proceed with Tricity Windows & Doors, final measurements are normally completed within approximately two weeks.
The final measurement is an important part of the process.
The initial measurements taken during the sales consultation allow us to prepare the quotation and determine the project's specifications. Before manufacturing, an installer completes the final measurements and reviews important installation details.
This additional step helps make sure the products being manufactured match the actual openings and the planned installation method.
How Long From Signing a Window Contract to Installation?
This is slightly different from asking about manufacturing lead time.

Entry doors generally take a little longer than windows.
At Tricity Windows & Doors, the current approximate lead times are:
White entry doors: around 6 weeks
Painted or stained entry doors: around 8 weeks
Why the difference?
A painted or stained entry door requires additional finishing and production steps. The design of the door, glass, sidelites, hardware, finish and other custom options can also influence manufacturing time.
If you're replacing your front door for a particular deadline, it is a good idea to start planning earlier than you would for a standard window project.
How Long Does Window Installation Take?
Manufacturing time and installation time are two very different things.
Once your windows and doors are ready, the actual installation may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on the project.
Some of the factors that affect installation time include:
Number of windows and doors being replaced
Size and type of the products
Full-frame versus retrofit installation
Bay, bow or shaped windows
Patio and entry doors
Accessibility of the openings

Ontario homeowners do not necessarily need to wait until spring to replace their windows.
There are, however, weather conditions when postponing an installation is the responsible choice.
Will You Install Windows When It Is Snowing or Raining?
Not always.
We may postpone an installation during heavy rain or heavy snow.
During a window or door replacement, the existing product has to be removed and the rough opening and framing can temporarily be exposed to the exterior.
Installing during heavy rain or snow could unnecessarily expose the opening and studs to moisture.
We may also postpone an installation when snow, ice or other conditions make exterior work slippery or unsafe for our installation crew.
A short weather delay is preferable to risking water exposure to the structure or asking installers to work in unsafe conditions.
Is It Better to Replace Windows in Spring or Summer?
Not necessarily.
Windows can be replaced throughout the year in Ontario, and waiting for warm weather isn't automatically required.
Winter installation can be perfectly suitable when weather conditions allow the work to be performed safely and the opening can be properly protected.
Rather than choosing a season based only on temperature, consider when you actually need the windows replaced and work backward from there.
If your existing windows are drafty, leaking, difficult to operate or experiencing other problems, waiting several additional months simply because it is winter may not be necessary.
