The rebates we have all been waiting for are finally here! The Federal Government of Canada has announced grants of up to $5000 for upgrading your windows and doors among other incentives for energy-efficient home retrofits or renovations.
What is the Greener Homes initiative?
The Greener Homes Initiative is an opportunity for homeowners to invest in upgrading their homes to make them more energy efficient, therefore reducing energy costs. This will make your monthly energy bills more affordable as the energy efficient windows prevent heat dissipation, allowing your home to remain warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and in turn, support Canada’s greater environmental objectives. The Green Homes Initiative will also aid in creating new jobs across Canada for energy advisors, grow our domestic green supply chains and fight climate change.
Who is Eligible?
All homeowners in Canada regardless of where they live are eligible to participate in the Greener Homes Initiative. Only one homeowner per home can register.
The eligible property types include:
● Single and Semi-Detached Homes
● Row Housing
● Townhomes
● All-season cottages
● Mobile Homes on permanent foundations
● Permanently-moored floating home
● Mixed use building (residential only)
● Small multi-unit residential buildings
What are the requirements for the Greener Home Initiative?
Complete a pre and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation
Complete at least one retrofit that is both eligible and recommended
Provide and keep copies of all the documentation until March 31, 2028
*All products must be purchase in Canada to be eligible for the initiative*
What will I receive from the initiative?
Participants are eligible for up to $5,600 total under the initiative:
✔ A maximum of $250 per rough opening and up to $5,000 for upgrading windows and doors to the eligible models.
✔ $600 back for EnerGuide evaluations.

We will schedule an appointment for you with one of our representatives so they may provide you a free estimate. The representative will explain the certified models that are eligible for the Greener Homes Initiative and provide you with all the information necessary.
Step 5: Receive your reimbursement.
Will there be any other measures?
This summer, an interest-free loan program will provide homeowners up to $40,000 to help complete deep home retrofits. This loan program will help make initiatives like the Canada Greener Homes Grant accessible to more homeowners. Register to receive updates when the loan initiative becomes available.
